Los Angeles Angels History
The LA Angels franchise was founded in 1961 after playing for several years in the Pacific Coast League. The Halos (as they are sometimes known) were one of two expansion teams in 1961, the other were the Washington Senators, now playing as the Texas Rangers. 2002 will go down as the team's finest year as they won the World Series against the San Francisco Giants in game seven. The Angels have also had several star players on their roster, including Nolan Ryan, Jackie Robinson, Vladimir Guerrero and Tim Salmon.
The Halos play at the 45,000+ capacity seating Angel Stadium. Built in 1966, it is the fourth-oldest active MLB stadium behind Fenway Park, Wrigley Field and Dodger Stadium. The stadium was also home to NFL team the Los Angels Rams from 1980 to 1994. The stadium is also a world-class concert venue, having hosted shows by the Rolling Stones, The Who, Pink Floyd and Madonna. However, it will always be known as a top-notch baseball venue and home to the LA Angels. Get your Angels tickets today right here at Ticketbis.
