The two were neighbours during the 1980s and began spending time together then; but the idea for a tour only arose last year when they started performing as a duo to sell-out crowds. Sting is best known as the lead singer of 70s and 80s rock band The Police and for his subsequent solo career, which included hits like Fields of Gold, Englishman in New York and If You Love Somebody Set Them Free. The British artist was born in the North-East of England, before moving to London in 1977 to set up new wave band The Police. Paul Simon is of course most famous as one half of the group Simon and Garfunkel, the duo that rose to fame in the 1970s. Paul Simon wrote nearly all of Simon and Garfunkel’s songs, including hits like Mrs Robinson, The Boxer and of course Bridge Over Troubled Water. After moving away from working with Art Garfunkel, Simon began experimenting with world music, particularly that of African origin. His most celebrated solo work is his 1986 album Graceland, which is made up of an eclectic mix of pop, a cappella, rock and mbaqanga. This record propelled Simon back into the mainstream and is best known for spawning You Can Call Me Al, an upbeat song about a man experiencing an identity crisis.

So get ready to sing along to songs like Bridge Over Troubled Water, Fields of Gold, The Sound of Silence and Every Breath You Take, as Sting and Paul Simon hit the stage together once more. This is one you do not want to miss so get your Paul Simon and Sting tickets before it’s too late!
