Radiohead formed at Abingdon School in Oxfordshire in 1985. Since the beginning, the Radiohead members have been Thom Yorke (vocals, guitar, piano, keyboards), Ed O'Brien (guitar, backing vocals), Phil Selway (drums, backing vocals), Jonny Greenwood (lead guitar, keyboards) and Colin Greenwood (bass). Originally, the band were named On a Friday after their weekly rehearsal slot, they then renamed themselves Radiohead after the Talking Heads song. In 1991, the band signed to EMI and, in 1993 released the debut Radiohead album Pablo Honey which contained perhaps their most enduring son "Creep". Since then, Radiohead have been at the forefront of musical innovation and experimentation. It was 1997's OK Computer that smashed open the doors to worldwide fame and success, changing alternative rock in the process. With tracks like "Karma Police" and "Paranoid Android" expanding their sound with electronic and Pink Floyd-esque prog-rock. Further cementing their place as a forward-looking band, in 2007 Radiohead released In Rainbows with little warning on their website and allowed listeners to pay whatever they wanted for the record, a move which Time magazine called "the most important release in the history of the music business".
In total, Radiohead have released nine studio albums. Pablo Honey (1993), The Bends (1995), OK Computer (1997), Kid A (2000), Amnesiac (2001), Hail to the Thief (2003), In Rainbows (2007), The King of Limbs (2011) and the new Radiohead album A Moon Shaped Pool (2016). Some of Radiohead's best songs include "Creep", "Fake Plastic Trees", "Everything in its Right Place", "Reckoner", "Paranoid Android", "No Surprises" and many more.
